Lead Quality Engineer

Dynasafe is seeking to hire a Lead Quality Engineer. The position will be based out of Talladega, AL, OR Karlskoga, Sweden but will travel as needed to various workshops, job sites, and offices.

We are looking for someone who is experienced, organized, and motivated to implement, monitor, and enforce the quality management system and Dynasafe’s quality processes.

Responsibilities of the lead quality engineer will include:

  • Ensuring all work sites are following the required HSE procedures to establish a healthy, safe, and environmentally sound working environment
  • Development and continuous improvement of the Global Quality System and processes in accordance with company goals
  • Ensuring that the quality management system fulfills the requirements of ISO 9001 in accordance with the certification version
  • Ensuring that the quality requirements are communicated to and followed by sub-suppliers
  • Ensuring that internal and external audits are planned, performed and that proper follow up and deviation or comment resolution is completed
  • Monitoring and feedback to responsible parties of the C2 database for aging or overdue responses to issues or deviations

The LQE has the authority to:

  • Make commercial decisions within the framework of the attestation rights for this position
  • Assign resources within the Dynasafe quality organization
  • Appoint a deputy as needed with management team concurrence
  • Report directly to the management team in all quality matters
  • Act as the company representative with clients in all matters relating to quality issues or concerns
  • Define and update the competencies required for the quality department

Key Work Tasks:

Quality Management

  • Support the organization in applying, maintaining, and developing the quality management system
  • Monitor that the quality management system is correctly used and committed to
  • Regularly evaluate products and processes to proactively implement improvements
  • Manage the internal and external audit systems
  • Conduct internal and external audits to monitor compliance with policies and processes
  • Support the process owners to maintain and improve their processes
  • Ensure that ongoing QMS improvements are well-planned and communicated clearly throughout the organization

Quality Assurance

  • Monitor compliance with quality requirements by subcontractors, both in the workshop and when installing at the customer’s premises
  • Act as the company’s point of contact with customers, the certifying body, and independent third parties when necessary for quality verifications and compliance issues
  • Monitor and supervise the disposition and closure of deviation reports to clients
  • Monitor and supervise the disposition and closure of deviation reports from clients
  • Monitor and supervise the disposition and closure of redress issues with suppliers

Quality Control

  • Verify and approve product and project meet agreed-upon quality requirements and standards before delivery and handover to the customer
  • Monitor that quality issues are correctly reported, addressed and closed

Quality Improvements

  • Ensure that measures are developed and implemented based on deviations and observations
  • Support internal deviations management and improvement work
  • Monitor that corrective and preventive actions are identified, addressed and closed

Required Profile:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years of previous industrial experience in the quality assurance and operational development field with a project-based environment
  • Experience in an international working environment
  • Organized and self-driven
  • Results-oriented
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Skilled in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently

Additional Requirements

  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Pass a background check for site access to US Government Sites
  • Pass an OSHA work Physical
