Procurement Specialist

Dynasafe is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our team in Talladega, AL! As the Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for strategic procurement development and the global coordination of procurement. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience within an international organization with skills in contract negotiation, supplier management, and sourcing strategy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist include:

  • Ensuring the procurement department is developed in accordance with company goals.
  • Developing and establishing the Company´s purchasing strategy with detailed processes and secure agreements covering the Company’s requirements.
  • Responsibility for global procurement, processes, quality compliance, and conformity management.
  • Maintaining an updated supplier base that contributes to the Company’s goals globally including alternate suppliers.
  • Developing and maintaining the global Procurement Process including strategic processes aimed to support both engineering and operational projects and remote operating locations.
  • Handling assigned responsibilities as stated in the Procurement process.
  • Ensuring that the Procurement process steps are correctly applied in relation to the Project Processes and other parts of the company where procurement services may be applied.
  • Collecting price information and presenting statistics from performed purchasing as a base for cost calculation.
  • Contributing to increasing the financial result by optimal procurement and cost-efficient solutions.
  • Ensuring a good work environment according to “HSE tasks for section manager”.
  • Ensuring that the commercial and technical requirements in subcontracts and purchase orders comply with customer contracts and Dynasafe project targets.
  • Developing and supervising the purchasing process in projects and line organization.
  • Managing the supplier interface during projects to ensure early supplier involvement to meet contract targets.
  • Driving contract management activities.
  • Tracking activity status within the order handling process.
  • Representing the company in commercial discussions with suppliers.
  • Performing Supplier evaluations and deciding on approval or not approval of suppliers.
  • Initiating and coordinating supplier evaluations to dual-sourcing options for all parts and services.
  • Performing RFI/RFP/RFQ activities and negotiating terms.
  • Keeping updated price statistics.
  • Establishing strategies, goals, action plans, and milestones for the section.
  • Communicating gained knowledge and experiences within the company.
  • Developing and implementing procurement best practices.
  • Working closely with key stakeholders to develop effective cost reductions, efficiency, and supplier quality improvement strategies through implementation.
  • Organizing and managing operations within the section according to the Management process.
  • Developing competence within the section to contribute to Company goals.
  • Conducting performance reviews on suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Ensuring HSE compliance within Procurement Staff.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Degree in Supply/Logistical Management, Contractual Management, or similar.
  • Proven experience within strategic and operational procurement for direct and indirect material spending both locally and globally.
  • Successful track record of transforming procurement from local to worldwide focus and leading the process.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of sourcing strategy development, financial concepts, and the ability to create business cases.
  • Experience with contract management and awareness and understanding of international contractual law.
  • Excellent international negotiation and supplier management skills and experience.
  • Passion for reducing TCO.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with personnel/suppliers and key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Well-developed IT skills.
  • Can meet a minimum of five of the six Dynasafe Core Values.
  • Write and speak English fluently. Swedish is a plus.

Pay: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
